Codepen as a beginner-level portfolio for students

How much programming knowledge is acquired from graduation apart from the theory?

Why students are struggling to get an IT job after graduation?

Most of the students are having 2 projects during academics and they won't be prepared well in coding. The current education system is not giving proper education on the latest technologies and frameworks to the students. Companies are looking for good coding and communication skills while interviewing.

Here comes the importance of platforms like Codepen. It is a social development environment for front-end designers and developers. Most of the students are not familiar with these kinds of platforms. Let me explain.

I used Codepen, for learning basic HTML CSS, and javascript. I started posting codes in codepen and used them as a portfolio during interviews. this helped me a lot and gave me confidence. As a fresher, I had something extra to show apart from the projects to the interviewer.

So, coming to the point.

If students can use these kinds of platforms for self-learning and build projects on their own apart from projects in academics, then the chances of getting hired will be more. A piece of basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, javascript, git, hosting, etc... is mandatory for freshers.
